    JADE PUGA is a Writer, Producer and classically trained, method Actress. Jade attended University Of Southern California School of Theater. Jade produced, co-wrote and starred in the movie Aguruphobia, out on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and YouTube. Aguruphobia had a limited theatrical run.

    Jade co-founded SAFADA Y SANO PRODUCTIONS with Richard Montes. Pass The Mic! a 60 min documentary, was their first feature length project, distributed by Image Entertainment. Pass the Mic! screened at the AFI Music Documentary Series.

    Jade is a 2023 FOX WRITERS INCUBATOR Fellow, with Richard. Their historical drama was in the top 10% of the 2022 Nicholl Fellowship. Jade is also a NAMA TV Writers Lab Fellow and a Hola Mexico Film Festival “Tomorrow’s Filmmakers Today” Fellow. In 2021, she was named the California Arts Council Arts Administrator of Color Fellow for the Los Angeles Region.

    Seeing the importance of preserving Chicano Art and Culture, Jade Puga and Richard Montes wrote the HCM application and constructed the argument on why the mural, Tenochtitlan: The Wall That Talks, located in Highland Park, should be recognized as a Historical Cultural Monument (HCM). On March 15th, 2023, by unanimous City Council vote, Tenochtitlan: The Wall That Talks became the FIRST STAND ALONE MURAL added to the list of historic-cultural monuments by the City of Los Angeles.

    Stepping into the directing chair, Ms. Puga wrote and directed the short “The Passion of Existence” which was nominated for best mini-short at the H2O Hip Hop Festival in New York, and screened at the prestigious Black Soil Film Festival in the Netherlands as well as the Vancouver International Hip-Hop Film Festival. ‘Un Beso’ marked her narrative directorial debut. She studies with Oscar Nominated Actress Sally Kirkland and Sal Romeo, an Actor Studio Directors unit member.
